Heads up for any North Dakotans on this board (are there ANY in North Dakota? ). From the Freerepublic board.
Another long shot using to Internet to campaign. A coupleabucks "wouldn't hoit" - especially regarding his T-Shirt for $5 bit (see below).
DEFEAT CONRAD
Please help us defeat U.S. Senator Kent Conrad in North Dakota.
The Gun Owners of America have given him a grade of F- meaning he is an Anti-Gun Voter: a philosophically committed anti-gunner. (per the ratings available at http://www.gunowners.org )
Duane Sand is the Republican nominee for the U.S. Senate. Duane fully supports the 2nd Amendment and would back his personal beliefs up with each vote in the Senate.
You may review Duane's positions on the issues at the SFS web site, www.sandforsenate.com , as well as read his biography and other background information.
Please help get out the word to anyone that may be interested in providing financial support to Duane's campaign. As you'll see by the polling information below, the North Dakota voters have a large misconception of Conrad's actual voting record. He is *NOT* conservative!
The latest Portrait of America poll continues to reveal an "ignorance" among North Dakota voters about Senator Conrads motives. (The information I refer to may be found at http://portraitofamerica.com/html/poll-1236.html)
Some disturbing conclusions from this poll:
-- Bush leads Gore by 17 points (48 to 31) but Conrad leads Sand by 23 points (57 to 34)
-- Over 50% (53 to be specific) referred to themselves as "very" or "somewhat" conservative and ONLY 12% placed themselves in the somewhat/very liberal categories (with 3% undecided)
-- They (the ND poll respondents) have a vast ignorance of Conrad's voting record with 27% placing him in a "conservative" category which ties with those that labeled him a "liberal" and only 8% as "Not sure" (i.e. over one-third of the ND voters are not aware, or do not recognize, Senator Conrad's far-left & liberal voting record - these people would NOT vote for him if they saw his true colors.)
-- One-fourth responded as "Not sure" as to whether Duane was liberal or conservative and less than 50% placed him in the conservative cateogory! (This is a direct result of limited funding - we need to get the word out. A conservative population can't vote for a conservative candidate if they don't know he is! It takes $$ to share Duane's vision with the ND electorate.)
Our state has the most inexpensive media markets in America and only 633,000 residents to reach out and touch.
For example, a $250 contribution buys forty 30-second radio station spots in North Dakota.
You may find information on how to contribute at the SFS web site - www.sandforsenate.com -
we are set up to collect contributions online via credit card. Information is also available for contributing via check or money order.
Thanks for any consideration you may give to the Sand for Senate Campaign.
Points of contact for the SFS campaign:

Ben Cahoon, SFS rep @ NRSC, 202-478-4452
P.S. - Even if you or your organization are not able to directly support our campaign, please keep Duane's information handy and provide it to individuals whom may be interested in seeing North Dakota put this senate seat on the GOP side of the fence -AND- out of the hands of the gun control lobby!
I know that this is a longshot race, but your campaign contribution will go further in North Dakota than it will in any other state. Furthermore, North Dakota's small population means that a 23 point difference in the polls is not as great as it would be in other states.

"When I lived in North Dakota, we called him Comrade Conrad. He was raised in Libya and has never lost the Quadaffi mentality. His entire career has been spent with his snout in the public trough.
One would ask why a conservative patriotic state like North Dakota wants to give Massachusetts a third senator. The answer is because, like South Dakota's George McGovern, he delivers the pork.
McGovern's luck finally ran out in 1980 when he was swept away in the "too close to call" Reagan landslide. Sand is an energetic young patriot who has campaigned hard and might be just the guy to perform a similar upset on Comrade Conrad.
One thing is for certain: Sand's energy and enthusiasm will ensure he won't be a vanishing act. Until now, North Dakota Republicans have always fielded some over-the-hill old f*rt as a token opponent and sacrificial lamb. Anyone with spare bucks needs to give this young patriot the support he needs to put patriotic representation back in a patriotic state.
North Dakota is so patriotic that even some of its Democrats are patriotic. Former Governor Arthur Link was one such class act and was the main reason I was once a Democrat. Rest assured, however, that Conrad is definitely not in that class."

Sand's website has an interesting twist - donate $5 and get a L or XL "Sand for Senate" T-Shirt. Contribute $10 and get 2, $15 and get 3. They don't have on-line ordering, so you have to call (701) 258-1892.
I don't know the quality, but it seems a good way to play with your neighbor's mind (in whatever state you are in) by wearing on of these, and helping the guy out as well.
