can anyone tell me if the navy arms walker is made by uberti or pietta,and do the older ones hold up as well,and are they scale replicas?

I have an ASM Walker which I love. I had to swap out the nipples for Treso because there appears to have been one nipple which was turned a little short. Fit and finish is great. The action is smooth. Two hundred is an outstanding price. I gave 260 for mine including box and shipping in very good condition. I'd spend 200 in a nanosecond.
I had an offline conversation with BPREVOLVER on ASM and he speaks highly of the maker.

I have both an ASM Walker (1997) and a Uberti Walker (2007). The Uberti is a better gun; better fit, better finish, better design execution. But that's not to say the ASM is not a good gun, it is a fine gun. The only real problem is that the chambers are seriously undersized: 0.448" vs 0.462" grooves, a whopping 0.007" gap. The Uberti's chambers are also undersize: 0.449 vs 0.452 grooves, just 0.0015" gap, but much better. However, the ASM shoots well and provides the "Walker Experience" just fine.

i think ill go fer a new uberti instead fer starters,when i checked back in on the navy walker it was suddenly sold ,seems they didn't even know it was a walker,pawn shops are good places to get a deal,just don't educate them on what they got,like i did,anyhow a new uberti outta be good fer a mi. whitetail,any body got a recipe using a 255 gr. lswc ,55 gr 777 maybe?
and can i use a .454 bullet

and can i use a .454 bulletI didn't want to say anything earlier to bias your desire for that other Walker but personally I would have gone for a brand new Uberti Walker....but only if I got a decent deal like I did on mine.
Pawn shops down here in Orlando are near worthless when it comes to finding firearms. Most do not accept firearms. The few that do want outrageous $$$ for them. Lets face it, your typical pawn shop customer ain't the brightest crayon in the box and that is how the pawn shops make their money.

Most pawn shop owners around here still think you need a ffl to mail a antique firearm pre 1899cartridge,or percussion pistol,and wont sell one to a walk in customer?although they will mail it out of state,pre 2004 in mi. you needed a purchase permit for all handguns even pellet pistols,gun shops also act like the law hasn't changed,Ive seen their auctions but the guns are not on display,one salesman at gander mountain said he wouldnt sell a r. o. a. to anyone without a purchase permit,no matter what the law said,sheesh another facist moron,out to save the world,from middle aged black powder shooters

The pawn shops here are only looking for suckers. I used to look in them and they were asking about as much for used as what you could get new in the right places. I would go with the Uburti. I have a nice single action in .357 from EMF(ASM) and the quality of the fit and finish is at least as good as Uburti in the case of that one gun. I can't say about others but the reason that I would recomend the Uburti is because the availablity of parts. I needed to get a part (hammer) for the EMF (ASM) because the cam had worn down and the only part that I could get was for the Pietta or the Uburti. The Pietta was closer to the ASM (which was close to a Colt) and I got it to work well but the parts for ASM are harder to find.
