Natural targets that float?

Going fishing tomorrow and might to a little target shooting if no one is around. What can we use that is biodegradable and will float? Thanks.

We used to just toss sticks in the river and shoot at those if the fish weren't biting.

Natural targets that float?

My first thought was...Ducks.

A lot too late but watermelons float. So do other melons and most veggies like potatoes. Maybe kind of pricey though.

Not exactly biodegradable, but when I was a kid a favorite floating target was old lightbulbs.
We always saved the burned out ones.
The pieces sank out of sight - and out of mind.
The good old days.

Ice cubes come to mind.

Bobbers will sink when hit as will shot shells. Balloons will often too, a little water in them will also keep them from blowing away.

If you don't own miles of property behind your water, you might rethink shooting into it though as a ricochet off water can go a very long way.
