Had lunch with a friend and brainstormed.
In conjunction with Mothers Arms ( www.mothersarms.org ) we're thinking of having an annual day to recognize and focus on self defense.
We need to pick an appropriate date, and a good name. 'Self Defense Day' sounds poor ... perhaps 'Family Defense Day' or ????
And, what date? Temperate weather would be helpful, nationwide. We'll start in Arizona, and get the Governor to recognize the day. Little by little, we'd try to get it adopted nationwide. We'd encourage LEO's to give seminars to citizens, pass out brochures, get retailers involved re: martial arts, security systems, gun safety classes, etc., etc.
Does anyone know if such a 'holiday' already exists? And, what do you think of this idea ... could it 'have legs'?
Thanks. Regards from AZ
