national guard pistol

OK, I don't get excited enough about handguns to blow the roof off often, but here is one of the coolest things I have ever found.

Background--My son, Matthew, is a wonderful young man in his first year in the National Guard. He is a good student, still in high school, going for the 'full ride'. He is very experienced with all types of small arms.
I found a handgun for him--as long time peace officer, I have gotten over every gun having to be ready to defend my life. some are keepsakes or for fun. I found an EAA Witness, caliber .40, with adjustable sights, and also a ported barrel. Not a ported slide, just the end of the barrel which protrudes from the slide. The neat thing is, the gun has gold lettering on the side,

NATIONAL GUARD and a small minuteman I suppose, a revoloutinary war soldier

I suppose this may of been EAA's play on National Match but this gun-with a serial number of 90 or 91 I think- is pretty cool. He'll be issued a Beretta but this is a pretty neat gun-and found it at a bargain.

Anyone have any experience with these guns or seen one? I have had excellent results with Witness .45 and 9mm,
comments?

Sounds like just a limited edition Witness, and would make a neat keepsake. EAA/Tanfoglio has been known to crank out a run of unusual limited guns every now and again. I once had a TZ-75 that was entirely case-coloured.
