From the thread about the South Carolina Attorney General's recent statements (http://www.thefiringline.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=54951), I decided to see if I could find the survey that was mentioned.

And here it is! The full survey can be found here: http://www.aphf.org/survres.html

It's an interesting read. Although, they do seem to favor registration.....

Too bad they don't lobby consistently with their survey. When I run into these guys in AZ, they are lobbying for anti-self defense legislation. I don't have much respect for police chiefs ... from what I've seen, people like you and me are just statistics to them. Disarmed statistics.

Regards from AZ

The NACP is a pro-gun organization that was located in Florida and who were led by Chief Gerald Ahrenburg(sp?) back in the mid-1980's when I spoke with them. OTOH, the IACP (INTERNATIONAL not National) is a big time anti-gun group of political chiefs and commissioners who do not consider the opinions of the rank and file officers. They are closely associated with HCI and help support the FOP. FOP leadership attempted to swing support from the group to Gore last November. Just remember NACP and IACP are to completely different outfits.
