I asked this question a bit ago and no one answered. Perhaps you are more beloved than I and will recieve many comments.

My take on it is: custom, or Kimber. The compensator throws it off, but I don't think it's a Springfield. Of course, Kimber is noted for melting their guns and Nash's appears to have relatively good lines.

I'm at a loss.

Nash Bridges' .45 isn't a .45 at all... it's a custom-built 1911-style gun in .38 Super (it's described in several FAQs on the show).

Fun show, BTW. And who wouldn't want a 426 (that's 7.0 Liters (!) for you metric folks) Hemi Barracuda?

Not quite 'Miami Vice' - and the famous (or infamous) Detonics 10 mm. But a good show, well made and the gun-paly seems reasonably well done (though the population of SF would be a 'statistic anomaly' if there were that many 'deceased' each week :) - I think you are right about the rigged 38 super - and the Baracuda - ah well!

Actually, the 10mm pistol Sonny Crockett used was a Dornaus and Dixon Bren Ten. The Detonics he frequently carried in an ankle holster was a .45 ACP.
The very first episode, he used a Sig 220 in .45 ACP, then swiched to the Bren Ten. The last couple of seaons, he went to a S&W 645.
All this firepower, and Ricardo Tubbs packed S&W Bodyguard! Oh, and every now and then Tubbs would carry an Ithaca Model 37 Stakeout with a folding grip on the pump handle.

I got some close ups of the Detonics on my home page - Page 3. Here is one:

I gots one... Love it... Love it.

You might laugh in the face of FEAR... but unless your armed, its a nervous, unconvincing, little laugh.

Have you noticed over the years that his partner Joe was carrying a Ruger then switched to a Sig. Other cast members were or are carrying Glocks and one had a S&W of some type.

The gun is a Colt Commander with a blued slide and a hard chromed frame. It features a custom made compensator and is chambered in .38 Super as mentioned in a previous post. The gun was built by Mac's .45 Shop in Seal Beach, California. It's a cool looking gun though.
