Nagant?

I just bought a 1895 Russian Nagant, I have heard you can fire the .32 H&R mag. without any problem. Has anybody had any experience with this. Thanks Joe

The only time I ever shot my 1921 Nagant, I put 3 boxes of .32 magnum through it. Extaction was easy. Other that the cases bulging (same as .32 longs), no problems and with good accuracy firing single action.

If you absolutely can't get 7.62x38...

...then I'd stick with the .32 S&W Long. Or get a .32ACP cylinder.

I got one of the .32ACP cylinders and reamed it for .32 H&R Mag. So now I can use the Nagant for .32ACP, .32S&W, .32 S&W Long, and .32 Magnum, plus the original cylinder for the 7.62 Nagant.

So after doing that work, I test fired it. And haven't shot it since; it is a real dog.

But versatile.

Now, its cheap and easy, but take Fiocchi brass and u can reload your nagant loads with a .30 Carbine die set. Lee also makes a reworked .32-20 die set. I had one and prefer the .30 Carbine.

All rounds function and are rather accurate with 90gr. Hornady HP/XTP

The Nagants sure look neat, but the cost of ammo makes my legs weak. Nobody has come up with a dedicated reload kit for these things yet?

Word.

It was just too long a run for too short a slide.

I gave my .32ACP cylinder to my roomie for her Nagant. Mine looks nice in my collection; it may get dragged out once a year to run some Fiocchi through it if I have a house guest who's never shot one before.

I wonder what you mean by "dog." My Nagants are slow to reload, but pinpoint accurate. Esp. with the original ammo in them.

I've fired H&R out of them, but it bulges the cases and doesn't have the same accuracy.

I too have experienced surprising accuracy with the popgun loads I shoot.

I like going to the range and DA blasting targets at combat range.....no recoil and once you learn how to stage the trigger you can make that baby sing!

I'll bet you can do some awesome finger curls, too!

Me? I'm too lazy to mess with loading gates for recreational shooting these days... :o
