Nagant M91/30: removal of rear sight.

Does anyone have a link to a tutorial on how to remove the rear sight on a 91/30 Mosin Nagant (manufactured in Tula 1942).

I can post pictures if necessary but I'm having a doozy of a time getting this thing removed without destroying it.

The instructions I have found, have me:

1) Remove the upper portion of the sight by drifting out the hinge pin. I have tried using a couple punches and a rubber mallet. It didn't budge. I tried with some other punches and a regular hammer, though I did not really hit it hard since I don't want to damage the rifle. I have also tried some penetrating oil with no luck. Some places reccomend heating up the sight with a torch but I am reluctant to do so.

2) Remove leaf spring & set screw. Can't remove the leaft spring without removing the upper portion.

3) Drift out front I rear pins of the sight and work the sight off toward the front. Tried also drifting these with the mallet, hammer and punches.

Any help would be appreciated.

Edit: Pictures.

Sorry about the bad image quality....these are taken with a really bad camera phone. I can post better ones if necessary as soon as I dig up my digital camerra.

nevermind everyone.....I finally got this bugger disassembled.

Had to spray a lot of WD40 in it, then clamp down the leaf spring to remove pressure from the pin. Then some judicious tapping with the hammer and punch finally got the pin to come out....real pain in the rear.

The lower pins for the rest of the unit also wanted a bit of heating. So heating with torch & penetrating oil and they finally came out as well.
