Nagant .32?

A friend of mine has a revolver Nagant, but it is not in the 7mm Nagant Caliber. It is marked as "COLT POLICE .32 SPL".
And we want to know:
What caliber is it? and does it exist a Nagant in .32 caliber?.

May have been re chambered or re cylindered. I know that they make cylinders in .32 acp for them now

Nagant Revolvers are not just the famous gas sealed Russian Nagant

There are several models in several calibers other than 7.62. Where is it written on the gun that it is for .32? What other writing is on the revolver? Does the cylinder of your Nagant move forward (not rotate) when it is cocked? I will research my library, but more information from you would help. If the cylinder moves forward on cocking and only the cylinder has .32 written on it, I would suspect that it is an aftermarket cylinder installed on a M1895 Russian Nagant.

"In a world devoid of semiautomatics, a properly set-up Webley is the ultimate full-size self-defense handgun."

the Nagant brothers didn't just make one revolver. I've seen a non-gas seal Dutch version in... I think 7.5 dutch? on gunbroker before.

.32 police is the same as .32 S&W Long, if I'm not mistaken. Ought to be a real mild shooter.

The words: "COLT POLICE .32 SPL" are written in the left side of the barrel:

I dont know if the cylinder rotates o moves forward because I haven´t seen it in person, I only know my friend in the web (Iternet).
The word Spl. in the mark "COLT POLICE .32 SPL" is the most strange for us.
We don´t know any caliber named .32 Spl. We know .32-20, .32 S&W, .32 S&W Long, .32 ACP or .32 H&R Magnum, but we don´t know any .32 SPL.

but we don´t know any .32 SPL.
I was looking at an old Winchester lever gun recently I'm pretty sure it was marked .32 special, it kinda threw me too. But we may be talking about two different rounds

I think in the case you found the word "special" is about the name of the model no the caliber.
The police Positive Special is a model with a longer frame than the Police Positive in Colt revolvers.
Maybe is the caliber of the Winchester carabine you said, but meanwhile we advised our friend do not to shoot this gun until we know what is the right caliber for his gun.

A Nagant can chamber many .32 rounds, what are the chances that it is a rebarreled Frankengun

The .32 S&W Long is the same as the .32 Colt New Police cartridge. The "Special" is a bit of an odd moniker though.

The following cartridges are interchangeable;

.32 S&W Long
.32 Colt New Police
.32 Colt Police Positive

Note that there was a .32 Short Colt and a .32 Long Colt but these are obsolete cartridges. I'm not sure, but I think the .32 Long Colt was also called the .32 Police or .32 Colt Police cartridge, hence the designation New Police, but I may be wrong. I seem to recall reading that Colt refused to mark any of their guns with rival S&W's initials, even for the caliber.

Please note that the .32 Winchester Special cartridge is a rifle cartridge that fires a 170 gr bullet at 2250 fps. I doubt you could fit one into the chamber of your Nagant.
