Anyone own one of these Black Widow pistols?
If you do can you tell me the pros and cons
This looks like a fun pistol to shoot and easy to conceal for last resort backup
I own a davis .32 derringer and do not care for the heavy trigger pull it has .and how the rounds keyhole when shot. ITs only accurate up to maybe 3 yards because of trigger pull
Other wise im looking for a small little pistol to fire .22 round for fun and was wondering if this BW pistol is worth it.

Thanks

Hi USMARINE2118,

Semper Fi from an old Marine.
My wife and I have a Black Widow, with cyliders for both long rifle and 22 magnum. As you thought, it's fun to shoot, with decent sights for the size pistol. It's a pain to reload, requiring the complete dimount of the cylinder to empty it and reload, then fitting the cylinder and cylinder pin back in and resetting the cylinder so the hammer falls in the safety slot between the cartridges.
My wife likes the NAA pistols for carry, using the magnum cylinders for that purpose and practcing with the LRs. It will be more accuracte than you think. At 7 yards, she can keep all her hits in a 12 inch diameter pattern quite easily.
The Black Widow comes standard with rubber grips and actually allow a grip.

No disrespect, but at 7 yards the gun should be capable of significantly tighter groups than 12".

You can get the .22 mag version (different cylinder) or get both cylinders. A lot of folks like them for snake guns, loaded with shotshells.

Well I use to own a BW but upgraded to a .38 spl.

Pros of BW:

-Small for easy carry.
-Very accurate at short range.
-Easy to learn how to shoot.
-Can be fired very fast with practice even if it is single action.}
-Stainless construction practical for conceall carry
-Recoil aint bad

Cons of BW:

-Reaload is a pain
-.22 mag a good caliber but not proven as a man stopper as much as a .38spl, and the fact that reaload is a pain those first 5 shots should do the job reliably.
-Adjustable sights dont work because the gun shoots high so you have to set them as low as they go.
-In my case I got misfires with the mag cylinder, again I had to count on al five to go bang! in case I needed it. So I did not trust the gun.

Beacuse of the cons I mentioned I upgraded to a .38spl, a Taurus 851. Satainless steel, shrouded hammer, same 5 shots but know I carry a speed strip with me, makes reaload a heck of a lot faster, still a small package almost as easy to conceall the only con on the Taurus is weight at 21 ounces is a lot more heavy that the 9 ounce NAA, but I got around that by not pocket carring, instead I use carry IWB with a hawaian shirt or similar and I dont feel the 21 ounces.
The best part is that I carry 10 rounds or more If needed of proven man stopping cartridge!.

If my opinion counts I feel a lot more safer with the .38spl

I have one, Marine, and use it for a deep hide occasionally with a .22 mag cylinder in it. Frankly, I rather like it. With the short sight radius on it, it's hard to hit anything beyond about 20-25 feet or so, but certainly adequate within that range.

Attach a 3/8 to picatinny rail to the vents. Put an ACOG on the picatinny rail. You will then have a very accurate spotting scope with the NAA Black Widow accessory.
