I just bought a NAA mini in .22lr and I was looking at the little boot grips they make for the gun. Do they help in handling the little thing or should I invest in the larger, oversize grips? Any insight would be appreciated!
I have the boot grips on my NAA 22 mag and they really make that little revolver more enjoyable to shoot without adding much bulk. The boot grips allow two fingers to grip the revolver rather than the one finger of the stock grips.
Before going for a larger grip, you might want to try a different, yet effective, method of holding/firing NAA Mini's - which I found about through a Gun Digest article, many years ago, on how to handle the (then) new Mini's.
Hold the entire gripframe in the tightly-closed fist of your firing hand, then wrap your "off" hand tightly around the firing hand ala "Weaver stance".
You can then manipulate the hammer/trigger with the finger/thumb of the "off" hand.
Don't expect to be either comfortable or accurate when first starting the new method - It takes some practice to become comfortable/proficient, shooting "out of the box".
...and man, do they make a difference! The little gun is much easier to handle and draw the hammer back. Looking forward to taking it to the range. Thanks for all the input.
