If I was a one handgun person, I guess it would be and older 27 with the five in bb, which I have. I'd hate wearing a shoulder holster for CCW but it could be done.
Remember that the 357 was introduced in 1935 .It was on the N frame ,came in a nice wooden box with certificate ,and the revolver with a super fine finish.
Some said it was too much recoil except for strong experts !!
Kcub, I know where that revolver came from. I talked to that guy. Cool gun with a lot of history. Still lookin for my first RM.

Um not exactly. Did not have a Wooden box until about the 1970s as the model 27, at the time a 27-2. Original guns had a cardboard box. I'm sure perhaps J. Edgar Hoovers Registered Magnum may have had a wooden box but his gun was lost somewheres, meaning it might be at the next gunshow or yardsale you are at
Also, you had to mail in a card for the registration certificate. After that, then you got it which IIRC entitled you to cheap / free work for the gun. The metal things on the right, aka grip adapters were one of the many options for a RM. A total custom revolver.
Here is a pic that shows all of the goodies with a nice RM. (no, not my gun)
