My Walmart is now selling Rifles!

Well, it's not my Walmart but it's the closest one to me. The main reason I bring it up is because I'm in the market for a Mossberg 12 gauge 18", and they have one for $199.97. And this is in NW Las Vegas. They even have a 12 gauge of some kind for $179.97, maybe it's a Maverick or a Norinco, it didn't say.

My shotgun I left in Minnesota, so I'm happy. With all the cost's and BS to have it shipped to me, it's just to cheap and easy to just pick up a new one, a mile down the road, along with my groceries.:D I did the same thing with a Mosin Nagant I still have in America, I mean MN.

Yeah, the one near me has long guns as well. They even have a Bushmaster AR, Mini 14, Rem 700s and shotguns. Very surprising..

I guess follow the money to determine what to stock. I wonder if they will ever get into handguns. I doubt it, but ya never know...

Walmarts here even have An AR, Mini-14 and some other guns that have been absent for a while. Maybe they finally realized that the surge in gun sales the last few years would have meant some nice profits had they been selling - in any event, it is nice to have yet one more outlet selling guns

Michael Moore will turn up in a minute and make another fool of himself.
They'll stop selling them again. I wonder what kind of reception Moore would have had if he had targeted one of the big sporting outlets instead of an overblown grocery store?

He has armed guards following him around to push his anti-gun rhetoric. I hope he chokes on a hotdog.

Our local Walmart carries, rifles and shotguns, no pistols.

Our local Fred Meyer now carries, Rifles, shotguns, pistols and ammo. The counter people claims that they sell enough to warrant it.

The WalMart decision to stop firearms sales in places was to increase floor space in stores that didn't sell that many. When the market returned and Wally's found that the upscale market didn't flock to Wally's, they decided to return to their roots in places where guns sell.

Not Michael Moore's doing, so can we lay off the grand conspiracy?

Around here - some stores have guns and some don't. I'm sure Mike is driving up and down I-10 and I - 35 selectively.

I, too, have been seeing ARs for sale at my Wal Mart. I do wish, though, that they would go back to also selling handguns. I still recall the Wal Mart in my hometown, with me being all of 16 years old...and staring at the Model 29 they had in the display case. Man, those were the days!

Sorry. I just couldn't pass any opportunity to bash MM.

My walmart has been selling guns for years. They now have a Sig 522,DPMS in 308 and a DPMS in 5.56, a Bushmaster Patrolmans Carbine and a Colt ar-15. Just seen them add a S&W M&P 15-22 to the gun case yesterday. Then of course they have hunting rifles and shotguns.

Hmmm. the long gun 'turnstile' at our stores that HAD long guns took no floor space to speak of. You may be right, but I don't think that that is the reason.

sadly, none of the WM's ..5 of them within 20 minutes' drive time..have guns .those that did dropped them. They are CRAZY in this day and time to not sell the hottest item going, imo. They do have some accessories and a sucko ammo asst.

If your store has guns, take the time to find and thank the mgr,and also take the time to write or call WM and thank them.

I dont know that all Wally's sold guns, but at one point they decided to cut back their gun sales with stores that did good sales keeping them and stores with poor sales stopping.

As mentioned above, Wally decided to use guns, and sporting goods, as a draw to get men back into their stores.

The walmart closest to me didn't get them but the next two did, so no complaints. They carry mostly the cheap models and I tend to get the stainless ones, so I prolly won't be buying from them.

its up to that store manager which ones they choose to keep in stock. Ask them to see the catalog they keep behind the counter ...... they can order a ton of different brand/models of guns with no added shipping cost and the gun prices werent too bad either.

Not all of the WM around here have gun sales. It seems the "ritzy" side of town has no need for a gun counter in its store.
Ive seen AR's and CZ's at some of them.

I'm old enough to remember Western Auto selling handguns. And handguns being sold at gas stations:D OK, now I feel old! Maybe I should just delete this and forget about it...would it make me feel better?
