Funny I never thought I would own an revolver. I've been pretty much dyed in wool Semi-Auto fan, I love my 1911s and CZs. I didn't become interested in revolvers until I started to reload for my Mom's LCR. I've wanting a heavier frame, making more pleasant to shoot than the little polymer LCR. I found this little sweetheart in a local shop. I would have liked a longer barrel but in our current times I feel lucky that I found a nice revolver in stock. :D
Who knows maybe I will start a new collection. I really like the weight and feel of this gun. Even being a Semi fan, I've never been much for polymer.

I will be wanting new grips, the current finger groves are too big for my small paws.

Whoa! Nery nice! I've been wanting that exact model for a long time! Is that 2.5" or 3"? I would take either gun, the reloader in me would prefer the 3" but I would think the 2.5" would be a little easier to carry. My current EDC is a 2.25" SP101, but would love to have 7 shots of 357badness at my side! :D

2.5" barrel. I would have would a prefer longer, but pretty revolvers are hard to come by at this time. Maggie is still a little heavy/bulky for me to CC. I have several Semis that I use for CC, 3" 1911, Kahr K9, and my only polymer CW9. I've already bonded with her and given her a name. Who knows maybe I will find her a boyfriend, when more stock becomes available.

Nightstand, I'm going give her own pillow :D

Just go all out and carve her shape int a piece of foam with enough clearance to easily grab her at the grip. Then take a little epoxy or foam safe glue and glue some nice felt or soft cloth over the foam. A little nice wood siding around the bottom and your have your own custom made pillow/case.

excellent choice for a first time revolver. now that you have touched a S&W, you will acquire more, they are addictive.

Maggie went to the range with me Saturday. I shot a variety of .38 spl loads.148gr WC, 158gr SWC, and 125gr JHP. It was pleasant to shoot, very little to no felt recoil. I was very pleased with the accuracy short barrel. I feel the accuracy will be even better when I improve my grip placement. I shoot a little low.
I will give more range time soon, my attention was divided because that morning I picked up my first shotgun too. :D

Yes, I believe this a start of addiction. I've always been a sucker for shiney objects that go bang. :D

Thanks everyone

686P holsters

I also have a 686p 3" which is a recent purchase. Can anyone help with holster suggestions. I don't see much variety and would prefer a leather paddle holster. Appreciate any suggestions.

My 686+ has a 4" barrel

I love it even though it had to go back to S&W when the cylinder release thumbpiece locked up on me. I now want one each in 6", 3" and 2.5". I too like the heft of the 686 and the extra shot in the 686+ is sweet! You have a great gun there, have fun shooting it.
I think collecting Smith and Wesson revolvers can be an obsession. I have a buddy that has several and it seems like every time I see him he has another one!

Nice find. I'm looking for a 686 with a 6". Be warned!!!! One Smith is never enough!! Thought I would only want one and I'm up to 5 lol.
