My sweet new rifle...

I just traded a Marlin XS7 7mm-08 for a Browning BAR Safari Grade II in 30.06. I already have one of the earlier Grade I BARs in 7mag, but it has sentimental value so I don't hunt with it anymore. This one I just took in trade is like new with only a small scratch on the barrel.

The guy I traded the Marlin for said the 30.06 was too much for his shoulder so he wanted the Marlin. Nothing wrong with the Marlin and it will serve him well. I am stoked about the BAR though. I really like these guns. No BOSS!

I would think the difference in recoil between a 7-08 bolt and a 30-06 semi-auto would be almost non-existent. Nice trade, interesting to know if the other guy thinks he did well in the trade. I hope you through in some cash and it wasn't a straight up trade. If not, good for you and I guess old Barnum and Bailey were right.

You will love the Browning BAR Safari Grade II. I bought one in 30.06 in 1996 and it has been a very dependable, accurate deer getter. Enjoy it, recoil is not bad.
