I would "posess" it however. Is a Vepr II ,in 223 a mistake? Should we buy an AR instead?
The Vepr is less expensve ,with reportedly good accuracy.I hate to lose a significant amount if we decide to sell though.Your thoughts?

Just checked out the VEPR stuff dz. Love it! I have been considering getting an AR this past week, but may get that VEPR Super .308 instead. Same basic price as the Bushmaster AR's, but I LOVE that wood stock! A real classy looking weapon... Thanks for turning me on to VEPR.

The VEPR II is an EXCELLENT example of the AK breed. They're built on RPK receivers, and finished locally at Robinson Armamants in Salt Lake City, where I live. I've been to their facilities many times. My friend has a Vepr II in 7.62 x 39, and it's highly accurate and precise compared to many other AK clones or variants. It's also reliable and has a very good factory trigger.

They're available in .223, 7.62 x 39, and .308, though Alex Robinson tells me the .223 seems to be the most accurate of all.

If you want an AK-pattern rifle, this is the one to get, IMNSHO.

Id go for it, and never look back. I had to sell my Siaga .308 because im in CA and did not want to reg it, but its a great rifle, and very accurate. I would prefer the super vepr if it was me, but i know people who love their Valmets (ak style in .223 just like the vepr your thinking of).
I prefer the AK design over the AR design. (and i have owned several examples of each).

How old is your boy? I know that my "want" list is unlimited! Is cash No Problem? I know that a SKS is a real steal. And the ammo is a deal at 8 cents around! I own two!
