If not what is it called? I am looking to put a laser on it but dont want to spend 250.00 for the crimson trace ones just yet. I havent decided if I am going to keep the sig or not. I have a friend who wants to buy it.

Thanks

Dan

disregard if you read what I had before. I believe the Sig 2340 has a proprietary rail, not a Picatinny. Picatinny rails are milspec to a certain width and spacing. that being said, I'm not sure how much different the proprietary rail is compared to the Picatinny. I'm not yet a sig owner, so maybe one of them will chime in.

IIRC, the rail's cross-section is the old Weaver standard that's been around for decades -- it's the spacing of the cuts that define a Picatinny. Most accessories have at least one "floating" clamp, frequently two, that will accommodate almost any rail cut spacing. Unless you're using an accessory that specifically requires the Picatinny spacing, then the Sig rail should be fine.
