I love this gun even if it is a .380 fits my hand great and very acurate, very light too. Should i use HP ammo in this or hot FMJ i think FMJ would be better as a HP in this caliber may not open up and if it does will it get in deep enough? Any help would be great.
Thanks,45automan

Hello. In .380, I don't find too much different between the "high performance" ammunition. The Plus P rounds are at most 100 ft/sec, but usually more like 50 ft/sec faster. That said, I'd likely go with CorBon or Triton 90 gr JHP +P. If those didn't suit me, in standard velocity, I would look at Winchester 90 gr SXT, Federal's standard JHP and their HydraShok or perhaps the Remington 102 gr Golden Saber. The blowback design nearly universal on the .380s limits their being "jacked up" very much.

I'd make my decision on what was utterly reliable followed by what hit point of aim and then what grouped the best.

In quality arms, this little round can be much more accurate than some might believe.

Best.

What Stephen said - my 232 happily gobbles up all of the rounds mentioned andis accurate with all, also. Top Notch Ammo 9www.topnotchammo.com) loads a 'warm' version of the GS that shoots very consistently. Good luck, M2

380 auto?

In this performance area, I would definitely recommend MagSafe prefragmented or the Cor-Bon HP or the Bee Safe (Cor-Bon's "self defense" brand ammo). The Bee Safe, for example, runs a lead cap on its front for good initial penetration and then expands like hell...
67 gr. @ 1300 fps/muzzle).
