OK. I finally got a chance to shoot this M19-4, nickel and 6" barrel revolver. The first thing I noted was the revolver seemed to have been sitting for a long time without being cleaned or lubed. I sprayed the action out with Tetra and then sprayed Remington oil inside and out. Everything got wiped down and then I dryfired the revolver. Smooth. The action has benefitted from an expert touch. No screws were buggered or even a scratch anywhere from a cheap screwdriver. I checked everything over and decided it would be time to load up. This example has a Partridge front blade and serrated semi-rib with serrated and adjustable rear sight. The sight picture is good. The wide target hammer was eased back. I gently touched the serrated trigger and squeezed. The action responded to a light single action squeeze. The targets I used were aluminum cans. I hit what I wanted with each pull. I tried some double action shots and I was impressed! I actually hit the aluminum can in the air once. When I was through, I gathered up my targets and dropped them off for recycle. I found the ancient Pachmayr Presentation grip to be in rough condition. I replaced it with new Pachmayr Gripper rubber grips. I completely cleaned, Flitzed and hand buffed the nickel while I had the grips off. I really like S&W K frame 357 Magnums. This is a great example of a P&Rd, craftsman assembled, tuned action S&W! I found this nice revolver at www.coalcreekarmory.com Anybody else find the M19/M66 to be the greatest 357 Magnum? (I know, I have N frames too!)
