My own house woes...

Hey Fud, you're not the only one with house woes.

Noticed some water in the basement after some heavy rains on Friday night.

Got too looking, and I discovered BIG BIG problems. The frame for the sliding glass door to the patio has apparently been leaking for quite some time. Sill, bandboard, joist tips, and some underlayment are all rotted.

BIG TIME rotted.

Insurance adjuster is coming by on Thursday to see if I can get any coverage at all, which I sincerely doubt. Few, if any, insurance policies cover this sort of problem.

Looks like its time to get a home equity loan...

Mike, what exactly will these damn homeowners insurance companies cover?!

I've run into that with my house on more thanone occasion.

"Oh, we don't cover that. We only cover exhaust damage from alien spacecraft propulsion systems..."

CMOS

NRA? Good. Now join the GOA!

The NRA is our shield, the GOA will be our sword.

I wish I knew, CMOS. I wish I knew.

Still, I may be able to get them to cover SOMETHING.

I have Erie. I've never made a claim with them in the over 10 years that I've had them for car, and the 7 that I've had them for the house.

Mike, These things have a way of creeping up on ya. Best of luck to you -- hope eveything works out okay. Regards, FUD.

Mike,

I am sorry to learn this. If it comes to it, I have a little experience with a very solid home repair expert in our area. Please don't hesitate to e-mail me for his name, phone, etc.

Regards.
