my old shotgun

The very first gun I bought at a farm auction 20 years ago for $60.
It's a Harrington & Richardson 12 gauge, barrel on the outside looks like someone pounded pipe with it, inside looks good and I've shot it without problems. Serial/ model #A 219780. What can you tell me about it? And how can I find out if it's worth anything other than sentimental value?

Thanks Jo

As long as the barrel wasn't dented, warped, bent or otherwise made out-of-round by the plumbing work, it's still worth about $60. New ones can be had for around $100 and used guns fetch $80 in good condition. I've seen much higher asking prices at gunshows and flea markets but nobody's buying.

Thanks. I'm actually glad to hear it's pretty much worthless.
My husband said if I keep buying handguns we would have to sell some of the long guns and mine would be first on the market. Guess we'll have to take a look in his gun safe and cull a few of his spendy ones:)
