this is my nitemare, just got back from gunshop after dropping off my 1911a1,i think im gonna can this shop after this as well,i took the 1911a1 45 down, told them extracter
blew out on me at the range is my warranty good ,also the links loose and
junked as well hitting the frame .yup warrantys good we wanna keep this guy as a customer boss man says,i ask said gunsmith can u check timing, and also mike the slop in the link or go oversize on the width for fit between the tangs, whats that he says? all i have is these(holds up pliers)and what i have here.(points to can of screwdrivers) i went
thru school for it tho.yeah i can replace link and extracter under our warranty
yadda yadda yadda meantime im saying to myself oh my god, hacker here in
the meantime.now i wait a week or so to get my piece back after new parts
installed in it.i hope this guy can do that at least correctly ,looks like i have to
fine tooth it afterwards and do the retiming myself.i think if this guy wasnt a co
owner in the shop he wouldve been history long ago, i just hope that my piece is
coming back fixed right without any other added headaches.what i dont understand is why they didnt notice this on the takedown and cleaning or is this the usual hook in the middle of the woods (literally where this shop is miles away from anything).this is the closest shop to me here where im at the next one being some 22 miles further away.has anyone had a similar exp.? or am i just getting murphyized to death this week?
