I just picked up this 1967 vinatage S&W Model 12-2 for $420 otd from my lgs. I thought I would share two pics (sorry for the poor quality) with you folks.

I cant wait to get it to the range tomorrow. I anticipate this revolver seeing lots of belt time and my CCW.

Sweet! The Model 12's were nice carry guns. They even made them in a 4" barrel too. Those longer barreled guns, in the early 60's, ended up on the duty belts of many police Lt's and Captains assigned to patrol divisions. They seldom got into the thick of the action so a light revolver was more comfortable (sitting at a desk all day).

I'm sure you know to avoid +P ammo in the M12's aluminum frame for practice. It'll last longer, even though today's +P is milder than the stuff from the 70's. Have fun with your new addition!

Congratulations. You've got what I consider the best CC rerolver ever. I've got a square butt one, with a Tylers grip adapter that has been my everyday carry gun since the day I got it. I used a Bianchi Accu-Mold holster, and the whole rig is light as a feather. It's a good shooter too. I'll shoot P+ once in a great while, but I see no sense in shooting high cost ammo to punch holes in paper. I mostly use wadcutters, or 158 grain RNL/SWC.

I paid $400.00 otd for a Model 12-2, 2" barreled, round butt at a gun show last month (the guy was asking $450.00 for it and, if he hadn't have come down so quickly, I probably would have ended up paying his asking price). Mine is in very good to excellent condition as it has a couple of nicks in the finish and a faint drag line on the cylinder. Lock up is tight and the trigger pulls (sa and da) are smooth and light. No box or papers.
It will have to contest carry time with a nice Colt Cobra I've been toting for ccw duties. Though I like them both, the little Colt is a bit smaller in frame size and a few ounces lighter.
