Well, we got assigned new duty guns today. Mine is a brand new Glock 22 with Trijicons. Yeah yeah, I know, almost every policeman has a Glock of some sort, but this one is still kind of special to me since it is assigned to me. I do plan to buy ALL my duty guns if I ever leave the dept, or if our guns are turned in for different models.....

Ho hum schmo hum. It's new. It shoots. YOU didn't have to shell out cash for it.

This is all good! :D

(Now stay safe.)

heck of a deal..

I am not a big Glock fan but I do love polymer, especially in the CZ. However, I refuse to look a gift horse in the mouth. Even though it is a service weapon and I guess since it is free then enjoy. One question though, do you get to practice at the department's expense anytime you want ?

Well, down on my list is a Glock 34. There are about half-a-dozen guns ahead of it thogh.

Whoa...I think we have the same list. Tell you what, just buy doubles of everything and send me one, OK?

That round is just a basic PMC round. Thats what we use at the range. I am not sure what the standard carry ammo we will use for this gun is, but I'll know on Wednesday.

As for our dept range time, we don't have a set policy on that. The way I understand it, we can pratice anytime with our own ammo, but it also seems like there is never a shortage of this basic PMC ammo at the dept either.....

BTW, I'll be recieving a new Glock 27 in a few weeks..... :)

What caliber is that gun? I'm a little ignorant on calibers.......

BTW, I love the bullet sitting next to it......but isn't it supposed to be IN the gun? HEHE, just kiddin'! :D

Hey Light,
See if they will let you snag a G27 as a backup!!! It accepts the G22 mags and might come in handy some day!!!

BTW, nice gun!!

Never fired a Glock

Of all the guns I'm familiar with, I've never never fired a Glock and feel deprived. My son punches paper with those flat-nosed FMJ's in his own .40. One of these days, I'll negotiate with someone at the range so I can fire off a couple of clips of Glock action.
Best wishes, great effective all-purpose tool.

Lightsped,

You certainly don't need to apologize for a G22. I've been carrying a G22 and G23. They're both great. Not the prettiest guns in the world by any means, but they always go bang when the trigger is pulled. There's nothing better than reliability in a handgun. And there's nothing worse than a CLICK when you expected a BANG. I'd suggest a hollow-point bullet, though, rather than the one in your photo.

Lightsped...

Kennesaw, eh? I was always looking at your pictures and never noticed the location. Good for your department on the 22's! Although the Louisville Department carries an eclectic mixture of duty weapons (including revolvers), the Jefferson County guys all carry G22's. I second the suggestion of trying to get your department to authorize G27's as back up pistols. Same caliber and the mags for the 22 will work in the 27. For some unexplainable reason, my G27 is an EXTREMELY accurate firearm.
(I've grown to expect the pictures of your Taurus snubbies when you post. They're still going strong, aren't they?)
