I picked up my new Walther P99. The First four mags had jaming problems but after that it cycled flawlessly. I am quite impressed on how accurite it fired single handed. I also like how easy it is to disasemble.I am very happy because this is my first center fire handgun and I am very impressed.

Thank you Guys for all the information and for sticking with me.

Hello Dude,
Congrats on the P-99. I'm glad you like it and find it impressive. I have one of the James Bond guns and all I can do is shall I say handle it. This gun will never be fired and remains in the safe in its case. I do hope to get a shooter version one of these days and just haven't gotten around to it. I believe for a first handgun you made a good choice.
Good luck with it and Happy Shooting :)

Congratulations. I'm glad you like it. I bought an SW99 myself a few months back. I like it as well, although I wish the slide to frame fit were a little tighter, and I wish it didn't shoot low with 115g ammo. But those are fairly minor gripes, and I'm going to see if I can get a lower front sight to correct the low shooting.

I suspect you didn't get any responses to your initial post because it was basically a non-controversial statement rather than a question I know I read it a day or two ago, but didn't feel compelled to comment. Good luck with your Walther. Let us know how it works for you (especially if you try 115 grain ammo - I've heard that this also shoots low with the P99. They seem to prefer 124 grain or heavier bullets.

Hey Dude!
Congrats on the buy! I've been debating between the Walther and a bunch of others.
Did you get the one with the silver or black slide? I wanted the .40sw version and noticed that all the catalogs i've looked at only offer the silver slide for the .40sw version while the 9mm got the black one.
Also have you seen or tried the laser site that mounts on the P99? I know its not the same thing as real shooting, but it still looks impressive.

Thanks!
Ken! >-]

I bought a p-99 9mm with the silver slide and i really like this one. i've put about 500 rounds through it and it shoots great. the only problem was i had to pay $100 each for the 16 round hi-cap mags. well thats life!

Congrats, Dude:

I was thinking of buying a Walther in .40S&W for myself. One can never have enough, and there's still room in my safe.

Now that you have your first centerfire pistol, what's your next one going to be?
