Springfield has been out of the scope business for some time, and I would like to see where these scopes were/ are used by 'uncle sam'. They were made by the Japanese company Hakko, and are generally considered to be decent at best.
I have a friend who owns a sporting goods store, a real gun nut. He has had Sworovski's, Luepold's, Zeiss, etc or anything else he wants on his guns and preferred Springfield. Then when he said he couldn't get them because they were making them all for the military (I don't know if that's true) he switched to Mueller's. He's a long range rifle fanatic. He eats and sleeps guns so I usually take him at his word. If he's BS'ing me I wouldn't know it.
Nice Shooter.... For a lefty! Looks like that shell holder would make it hard to get a decent cheek weld though. Enjoy your new toy. ( I'm a righty and that thing would stick me in the eye!)
