It only weighs 11.4 oz. This thing is stupid lightweight.

I have the M&P version (XS tritium front sight). .38 specials aren't bad through the gun, but .357 rounds flat out hurt. Mine is 13.3 oz. can't imagine touching off .357 rounds in a gun nearly 2 oz lighter. Ouch!

If ya shoot full house 125grn 357's out of it let us know what ya think of the recoil.

I have shot one.

I thought I was a recoil junkie until then, I almost had to go to rehab.

But I said no no no (to another 5 rounds )
 
I have the M&P 340 which is 2 ounces heavier. I do not enjoy .357 magnums with it and load to .38+P data. Even these are not something I will stand there and shoot all afternoon. I suspect you will be practicing with .38 spl loads. Good luck and let us know how your first range trip went.
 
Very nice. The S&W PD series are the best looking modern production snubs out there, IMO. The full under lug makes a huge difference in appearance and the two tone really sets them off. I'm sure plenty of people disagree with me..
