My new Ruger Redhawk .44 Mag

A couple of weeks ago I picked up a .44 Magnum Ruger Redhawk revolver. I’ve been wanting one of these for a few years, but I’ve been patient about it. This one was offered to me a few weeks ago as part of a trade, and, and, even though I was looking for one with a shorter barrel, the whole deal was so good that I couldn’t say no.

I’m the third owner of this gun, but the first one to ever fire it, which is pretty neat. As it turns out, it is a sweet shooting revolver.

Here’s a video of my first range session with the Redhawk.

As the owner of a 4" model who also bought it because a deal turned up, I'd like to extend my congratulations on a fine revolver. I am besotted with mine, and it sounds like you're heading that way too!!

Enjoy!

I semi-mindlessly bought a .44 Ruger Alaskan a few years ago for anticipated travel in big bear country. Then, angsting over the poorish muzzle velocity promised by its snubby barrel, I sold the thing a few months back without firing it once. I think a 5.5" Redhawk will fill the requirement I had envisioned for the Alaskan, and more handsomely, too. Congratulations on yours.

Really well done video. Thanks for sharing it. Such fun.

My latest Redhawk is 5.5" .45 Colt, but I haven't shot it yet. I have a 4.25", .45 Colt also.

I'm jealous

This has been a revolver I've always had on my to get list. Now that the list is getting shorter. I'm on the look out for one.

Seems like they have went up a bit over the last few years though. Wish I would have passed up some other guns and getten one back then.

PS: Keep the pictures coming:)

Very good video! I am really falling in love with revolvers. I have the .454 Super Redhawk. Only shot against paper. I am collecting some plastic bottles to fill with water and perhaps dye.

Sweet find there. I have three of the 7.5" SS versions in 41mag, 44mag, and 45 Colt. I however just can't bring myself to throw down on what the 357's are going for when you can find one.

They are great revolvers, accurate, built like tanks, and great for hunting with.
