I recieved my E.German Mak from SOG yesterday. :)For those of you that are interested it was a good buy and I'm very pleased with it. It does show some signs of holster wear but the internals are excellent.
Was planning a range outing with it today but I believe the weather isn't going to allow that. :(
If you were considering the purchase of one of these I wouldn't wait, don't know how long they will last :)

Happy Shooting :)

The great body of our citizens shoot less as time goes on. We should encourage rifle practice among schoolboys, and indeed among all classes, as well as in the military services by every means in our power. Thus, and not otherwise, may we be able to assist in preserving peace in the world... The first step- in the direction of preparation to avert war if possible, and to be fit for war if it should come- is to teach men to shoot!

Please hie thee to the range as I am interested in a German Makarov as a project pistol. I want to get it a trigger job, Novak sights, dehorned, and reblued. I figure I should be able to come in under $300.00. Regards, Richard.

Good choice. After looking at new Chinese and Russian Maks, I went with a surplus E German also.

The only mod I'll make is the addition of a Nolan High magazine release, when it arrives.

I'll let you know what happens with it if I get it to the range,I'm anxious to punch some holes with it. I have a new Walther P5 I've been aching to try to but time just hasn't allowed and now it looks like rain :(
Destructo I've been looking at the Mak page also, My son thinks all I should do is go with the Pierce grips

Happy Shooting :)

Just as there is no such thing as too much fun,
there is no such thing as owning just one gun!!!

Off my meds (quit smoking), armed to the teeth, and loose on an unsuspecting society!!!

I've got Pearce grips on my Bulgie and it makes a big difference in comfort while shooting. I tried the Makaraps but they didn't seem as comfortable.
If you haven't already checked this site out, try makarov.com; lots of info and accessories for the Mak.
