My new M38

I have been keeping my eye out for an M38 for about a year now and have not seen one locally until a couple days ago. Needless to say I was pretty giddy when I saw this one. The price tag on it said "Russian Military Rifle 30-06"(Ha!). $150 out the door. It is an 1943 Izhevsk and is counter-bored and has an M44 stock. The barrel is fairly bright and has good rifling. I can not wait to shoot it! Now my 91/30 has a playmate.

Nice pickup.

I was meeting a guy to buy a M38 from him on Wednesday. Stopped off at a gun shop on the way home and happened upon an M44 in great shape for $125. Shoot. at that price I bought it. Then later I met the guy for the M38.. bought that. I went a little crazy but now I have one each...
