My new Heinie custom Hi-Power

Finally, I got to pick up the 9mm Hi-Power, which was customized by Richard Heinie. Bought from a member of another board. This gun has Heinie's personal defense package done on it. It was built by Richard for his display gun at the 1999 SHOT show.
The gun includes Heinie's logoed pistol pouch, an Alessi/Heinie DOJ holster, and documentation proving the authenticity of this Heinie gun.
Looks and feels great. Very clean work of course. And the trigger breaks very cleanly and crisply, at my estimate of about 4 lbs. Can't wait to shoot it soon.
Here is a picture...which does not do this gun justice, since my photography skills suck.

Puuuurrrrrty!

Congratulations on what has to be heirloom material.

If you ever come across a ~$300.00 HP let me know. I am searching for a beater shooter. I'm gonna be patient and find a real Belgian HP beater shooter.

That is a Niiice pistol. And IMO that's the only kind of grip that belongs on a HP. You done well.:D

I am green with envy. Really nice.
Coltdriver; I bought a "real belgian beater shooter" last year from AIM Surplus . They were Israeli military surplus. Gun, two mags, holster, and mag pouch for $275. The outside has the look of a well used military handgun. The inside is mint. Shoots as well as my other HPs.
I put some of the trick C&S parts on it, had a set of MMC adjustable night sights put on it. Of course nice grips. I was then going to get it refinished. But...........I have been debating the issue of sending it in to someone to have it tricked out professionally. I probably won't do it because of the expense since it works fine now, but I have never owned a custom pistol and I can't think of a better canidate than a HP.

Niiiiiiice...can I have it???

Never hurts to ask Very nice. I've always wanted a custom HP. Maybe someday... <sigh> Congrats!!

wow thats a tall target looking front sight on that pistol.

I suppose with that holster its ok but that really looks like a cloth grabber.

Shamster - Beautiful Browining. Heinie is one of the best High Power mechanics in the country. As someone else on this thread pointed out, your acquisition is a heirloom. Don't let that curtail using the High Power. Congratulations.

Well, Heinie's Hi-Power personal defense package is about $1050. Add to that the cost of a stock Mark III, and that's about the price. Also, I got 5 hi cap mags with it.

When I saw it posted for sale, I just knew someone was going to get a lot of pistol. I wanted it bad, but being gun rich and cash poor, it got by. Ken with the HP and the 1991 done by Brian, you are starting to have a quite a collection.

Thanks John :)
Yeah...I know what it's like to constantly fight the urge to acquire custom guns. I actually had to sell off a gun, and will be selling another one soon, to be able to buy this Hi-Power.
But, it's worth it. I'd rather have this than 2 common stock guns that I rarely shoot.

I just bought a browning hi-power. It isn't new it was made in 1980 but it is in pretty good shape. Is this something that I can send in and have customized? I really like the looks of some of the custom guns. Or do I need a brand new one to send in?

Best to talk to a gunsmith, but as long as it's in good enough condition, I'm sure it can be customized.
Not necessary to have a brand new one to work on.
