My new Beretta Elite II

Picked it up yesterday, shot it last night.

Checkered front and backstrap, black novak sights, factory trigger job, hex grip screws, stainless slide and barrel, black bruniton frame, and Beretta Reliability.

Shot my personal best at bowling pins last night with the new Beretta, 20.5 seconds to clear 18 bowling pins at 30 feet. (The winner got 'em in 16.5 seconds)

No malfunctions, but you knew that already with a Beretta 92. Can you tell I like this pistol?

Beretta's are great guns. Love them myself.
I recently bought a Border Marshal in .40. Can't shoot it enough. Love the silky smooth action on Berettas.

I have the 92 Elite and just love it. Today I purchased the 92 Elite II however I can't get it until Tuesday (they had to order from the distributor). I JUST HATE WAITING!!! I saw the Elite II in .40 cal and it was, as I suspected, love at first sight. I have been waiting for the Elite II for soooooo long....ever since someone saw it at the Shot Show 2000 and told me about it. Rumors were that it was delayed until this fall but you know how that goes...

A lot of dealers didn't even know what I was talking about when I called about the Elite II so I was elated to find a dealer who could get me one so fast. In fact, this week the Beretta Gallary in Dallas told me they didn't know when they could get any (go figure....always the last to know eh???).

I emailed BerettaUSA and they responded that the dealers should have them which is why I went on a buying rampage today to find one. Even though I was prohibited from buying more than one Beretta, I also bought a Brigadier Inox (wrap around finger groove rubber grip/hex screws, dovetailed white 3 dot sights like my Elite). I picked up a Mini Cougar 8000 (G model)a few months ago as a backup to my carry gun and it is still in hiding .... nearly time for the "confession" about buying it. Don't know when I'll fess up about the INOX.

Can't stop until I fill up both of my safes. Ain't Life Grand????

Good luck with your Elite II!!

What did you guys have to pay for your Elite II? I found one dealer with a 92 and a 96 version and he wanted $750 ea. Seemed a bit steep considering I can get Elites for $629.

Will someone post a picture? Is this going to be a "limited" production or a regular production item?

Elite II (92 or 96) is $628.00 Next closest prices from other dealers were $669 and $678.

The Elites were $528 or thereabouts.

This is in the Dallas area.

QB: just remember when you confess about the mini cougar and your wife is yelling and screaming; Tis better to ask for forgiveness than permission ;-)

I changed out the stainless hex grip screws for black and put on Beretta rubber grips. I may change back to the stainless screws. More to follow.

I'm still trying to make the pictures smaller so I apologize for the size of these (and the next two of the Elite)

OK I'll stop now....I've turned into a monster with my new digital camera and PhotoPoint.....

The Elite II has black Novak sights and the Elite has white 3 Dot. Grip stipling is different also, however I added rubber finger groove grips to the Elite.

Questions regarding the Elite II:
1. Does it only come with a SS slide or does the blue slide only come with the original Elite?

2. How accurate is the Elite II? How accurate vs. original Elite?

3. Is the Barrel flush with the slide on the Elite II, just as it is w/the original Elite?

4. Is the magazine more flush to the frame on the EII vs. EI?

5. Approximate cost of both pistols?

6. Can one purchase the std 3-dot sights for the EII or does it only come w/Novaks?
