My new 870 (great deal at Big 5)

Was looking around for the past couple of weeks for a decent used 12ga pump for HD, but didnt really see anything that caught my eye (and certainly nothing in even reasonable condition under 200 :mad: ), when I decided to look at the major sports stores around me to see what could be had new.

To my greatest pleasure, found that Big 5 sporting goods had this Remington 870 Express 'Security' (aka Synthetic 18") on sale for a measely 299.99. But it gets better...299.99 minus 10% off coupon from Big 5's website = 269.99 + tax AND minus a $30 mail in rebate from remington = $261 out the door.

Not a bad price in my estimation...

BTW I hear Dick's sporting goods is actually selling these for 220 after rebate, but there arent any in AZ. I dont know if this is true, but never hurts to check if you have a Dick's near you.

looks like a nice gun.

i have the same w/o the extention. A little note, dont get any solvents, like gun scrubber on the stock or forarm, it will stain it white!
 
I've got a similar set-up, but its a 1956 Wingmaster. The action is slicker than deer snot and I love this gun. I feel ready for any social situation with this baby by my side. Also if you are looking to add anything I would suggest www.knoxx.com and www.mesatactical.com. Not that you need to, but if you feel the need. They offer some of the greatest aftermarket products for the 870.
 
Thanks for the links...I think I will keep the factory stock for a bit, and probably just add a recoil pad and a plain old sleeve on the stock to hold the shells.

Those mesatactical receiver sling mounts look pretty nifty though...might have to give those a go.:D
 
Well, the Dick's ad about cheap ammo did not apply to the Arlington, TX store. I did however pick up a Mossberg 590 parkerized 12 gauge pump for $379 out the door. It is my first shotgun.
