My new .45 Magnum!

I have read nothing by good things about the Redhawk .45 Colt. It would be nice if Ruger brought them back into production.

I do love my S&W Mountain Gun in .45 Colt, but it is not as heavy or heavy duty as the big ole Redhawk. Maybe, I should be thankful. I don't know.

Calling yours a Magnum might be an understatement. :)

Super,

Just keep the handloads reasonable.

Yea you can go pretty much to .44 magnum as for power. Bit heavier bullet, bit less velocity.

But, being a Ruger, you can shoot it all week.

While I have N frame .44 magnums, a 45 LC Ruger will do anything my .44s will (and be a bit more pleasant to shoot.)

Totally subjective but I really like the lines of the Redhawk.

Looking forward to a range report. (and if you could shoot something kind of solid to show off the power of the loads your using so much the better...but like others have said keep it reasonable.)

Those Redhawks are nice, I bought one several years back when Ruger re-introduced the .45 Colt Redhawk and I probably should have kept it! The Redhawk is super strong, some have even fit them with 454 Casull cylinders, but my only grip was that the grip style isn't the best for HEAVY .45 Colt loads.

For a time these were impossible to find. I was on a wait list for over a 13 months at one point but they seem to be making them again.

The test cartridge is dated 11/20/2014.

I haven't shot the gun yet but here's the test I did with my Blackhawk.

I'd expect similar performance with this beast! :D

My Redhawk is exactly the same, except for the .44 Mag stamp.

Looks great and I do find the .45 Colt intriguing so do tell us how it shoots and the compulsory extra photos! Some muzzle pics too?
