OK here we go. First off I was pleasantly suprised that they were as advertised, good + condition.

Rifle 1:

Beautiful Laminate stock, some dings and storage wear. Barrel minor pitting but overall about 75% condition, except for the muzzle which is a little rough. Barrel rifling is good. Trigger seems crisp, not much creep for such an old rifle. I am leary about the bolt. When in an 'fired' position it is very tough to open . In 'ready to fire position' it opens normally. The rifle came with a piece of paper that says 'WARNING' ENSURE BOLT HEAD IS PROPERLY INSTALLED (SEE FIGURE 1) BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO FIRE THIS RIFLE....{Then it has 2 lines of text that can't be read}....PERSONAL INJURY. SEE OWNERS MANUAL FOR PROPER INSTALLATION.' Then it has some kind of sketch that I can't make out (FIG.1 and FIG.2)

As the rifle did not come with a 'Manual' I am not sure how to check if it is ok.

Overall the gun is in good shape.

Rifle 2:

Laminate stock, ok shape for its condition. Large scrape marks along entire left side of rifle, like the previous owner dropped it and it skirted down the side of a large rough shale hillside. Barrel and metal finish better than on rifle 1, except bayonet is a little 'loose' and shaky, the screw is tight, but it seems like it has been this way a while, as the stock has wear, at the end of the bayonet area. Barrel rifling is fine. Trigger has a lot of play in it, but seems servicable. Bolt is fine.

Did anyone else order one of these rifles?

I tried to order some ($29.95 was too good a deal to pass up), but they were already out when I called. Apparently they sold out by 10:00 AM eastern time. The person I spoke with said they'd sold around 600 of these rifles that day. I was a little bummed. Maybe next time. I do have a near-new (came in original arsenal wrap) Russian M44 that I got from Aim a year or so ago for $69.95. I wish I'd bought another of these when they were available. I got it as a cheap shooter, but it looks so nice that I have a hard time using it - I need to get one that already has some miles on it so I can relax and shoot the thing.

I GOT MINE TODAY AND IT'S BEAUTIFUL. lOOKS TO BE IN UNISSUED CONDITION, BORE IS BRIGHT AND SHINY, JUST A COUPLE OF DINGS ON THE LAMINATED STOCK, (WHICH BTW IS HEAVY ENOUGH TO ABSORB SOME RECOIL AND SEEMS LESS ABUSIVE THAN MY fINN 39). tHIS WAS THE DEAL OF THE CENTURY, (29.99 {as seen on TV}AND ENCOURAGES ME TO CHECK OUT AIM REGULARLY TO SEE WHAT ELSE THEY HAVE.
