My latest "plinker"

Well, not exactly. Some of you may be aware that I was looking for a compact all-steel .357 mag revolver. Here is what I came home with. You will probably recognize the Taurus Model 605, unported, stainless steel and I installed the shortened boot grips on it. At the urging of a fellow TFL'er, I journeyed up to the Bullseye in Lawrenceville and was pleasantly surprised at their selection and especially their Taurus prices......very reasonable. Right now, I'm doing a shake'n'bake because I have had it for a week and have not been able to fire it. If it's anything like my Mod 85, I will be pleased with my purchase.

Very nice....looks good. I think youll love it..a range report coming up , soon? Don Hume makes some great snubbie holsters...Ill post a pic of my SP's 715 when it gets here.
Shoot well

Nice pistol. I had one till my Mom got a hold of it, Happy Mother's Day ;) . Then after seeing Crimson Trace grips on my 586, Merry Christmas Mom ;) . Makes a nice house/purse gun but I wouldn't call it a plinker :D . Plus P's work best, full house 357 loads are fierce, light 148gr wadcutters maded a nice back up plate shooter out of it.

Several Questions

Where is Bullseye located once I get to Lawrenceville? The 605 pictured looks about the size of a Mod 60 Smith. Whats the NIB price for it at Bullseye? Does it come with the ribber grips? As you can tell by my questions I am impressed. Congrats! Range report ASAP please!

directions to Bullseye.....

Tom B: I can only give you directions going north in I85. Take the highway 316 split off I85 (Athens exit) and go about 3-4 miles.
Look for highway 120 exit and take that to the right. You'll go through a couple miles of suburban traffic. I believe 120 splits with 29....stay to the left. It's only a couple of blocks up the street on the left-hand side and you will see it as you approach the Lawrenceville town square.

I got mine for $319 NIB. They have the new hammerless CIA 850 and 650 models and I believe the blued model was $259 (?) Wow, you have to try the trigger on the 650 and 850; it is unlike any other Taurus I've handled......absolutely fantastic. Mine came with the longer non-ribber grip which I promptly took off and installed the shorter M85 grip. Fit and finish is beautiful.

I don't plan to shoot many, if any, Plus-P .357 mag loads in it. Georgia Arms makes my favorite .357 standard-pressure load: a 125 gr SJHP and I have several hundred rounds of various other .38 spcl G.A. loads to try.

I think you'll like Bullseye; they have a LARGE selection of guns and a small indoor range.

A range report will be forthcoming; Thanks for letting me share.
