Hello everyone, im just wondering if there is any sort of information somebody can give me in regards of have your K98 yugo capture serial number starting with the letter T. Does that tell anything? I know k98's have prefixes but i cant find anything about serial numbers starting with T. On the left side of my gun it says "preduzece 44" im not sure what year it is or where its origin is from. So maybe the serial number will help that? If anyone can help that will be very nice! Thanks! (I would post pictures but apparently the file sizes are too big, i have trench art on the stock that i cant really make out. I believe it says one of these several options 1."58k4" 2."5okh" 3."5ukx".. There is definitely a 5 and a K but im not sure what the other two are.)

Preduzece 44 is present on most all of the Yugo Mauser in either Cyrillic Or Latin Script (Mine has Cyrillic). It's an indication of the factory of manufacture/ rearsenal (in your case with the capture) Zastava I believe.. Can't tell you about the serial number, though.

German serial numbers did not have a prefix letter, they had a suffix letter, like 1234a. K.98ks left in Yugoslavia or captured from the Germans were rebuilt at Factory 44 (Zastava) for use by the Yugoslavs, but most rifles with that marking were rebuilt Model 24's or new Model 48's, neither of which is the same as the K.98k.

The marking could be about anything, but many German K.98k's had the rifle serial number crossways on the bottom of the stock between the pistol grip and the butt plate. Of course, if that is what it is, the number is that of the rifle which originally was in that stock, not what is in there now.

The stock number is cross ways on the stock, the number is "8242" and the reciever is "T8242".

Here are the numbers on the gun.
Stock: 8242
Reciever: T8242
Bolt knob: 992
Bolt handle: T8304
Buttplate: 3182/2432 (it has 2432 over the first set)
Barrel band: 9857

There are 5 waffen stamps i have found so far on it that are out in the open.
