my holster for Single Six

I like to make things for my own use. The result is not always the prettiest but I make them to suit my needs. This holster was designed to protect the gun and, especially, the hammer. I once had an incident in which I found a single action revolver I had been carrying while hunting at full cock when I got back to camp. It must have caught on a branch. It was not a transfer-bar safety gun either. The results could have been very bad if it had gone off. This holster was used by me on my cattle farm. It has been worn many hours while working and while on my tractor. And, I often carry it while hunting or hiking. The hidden hammer, open bottom and no top strap allow quick withdrawl while still protecting the gun. It shows use but after fifteen years shows no signs of being at the end of it's life. Stitched with artificial sinew and reinforced with one copper rivit. Cost? Almost nothing. Scrap leather and on ten cent rivit.
