My great uncle has a Yugo 24 Mauser he brought back from WW2

This isn't the Yugo Mausers you see on the surplus market. This is the Model 24 that was built by F.N for the Yugoslavians before there was a plant in Yugoslavians. He obtained it while in Italy on the way to the Gothic line.

Can anyone prove any info about this rifle? Was it a common Mauser? Where could I find a bayonet to fit it?
 
I don't remember the exact number but 32,000 M1924's from FN before The Serb's got their plant going and started production of the M1924 rifle. There are several variations, carbine and rifle.

I wouldn't doubt it if he did find one, they used anything they could get their hands on at the time. Though I thought most 24/47s were Czech?

Most of the Yugo Mausers on the market you see are the M48s which are very similar to your 24/47. Bayonet wise, you should be able to use an M48's bayonet. They're the same and you can get them from a couple places fairly cheap
