My Grandad's Model 11

As the title says, it's my Grandad's gun along with some of his other personal belongings. It's a 12 gauge with a Poly Choke made in 1920 and my Dad put the custom Bishop stock on it. My family is originally from Warsaw, MO so Dad had a lot of friends that worked at Bishop and Reinhart-Fajen. I have a lot of fond memories of this gun and took my first turkey with it many moons ago. Although I don't shoot it as much as I used to, I still let it stretch its legs occasionally. I just wanted to share it with fellow shotgun and Remington enthusiasts.

that photo belongs in a magazine. you could probably sell that to Remington in all honesty.

thanks for sharing, i love stories like that. I hope you have no intention of ever getting rid of it!

I am fond of 11's and Savage clones, and that is a beauty...

I have one a couple of years younger, but nowhere near as pretty...

It's too bad the workmanship that went into the Model 11 isn't there in todays guns.
The Model 11 is a very fine example of what can be built.

Nice,nice Remington Model 11.

Thanks for the kind words everyone! As far as ever getting rid of it, that will never happen even in the most extreme situation. I don't even consider myself its owner but more its primary caregiver for the time being. At least until my kids get older and more established then one of them can take over that responsibility until their kids are ready...at least I hope.

Looks just like my father's Browning A5 which I believe was probably manufactured by FN....he acquired it in '52 and I shot it for the first time at age 8.....I can still feel it when it turns cold!
