My Enfield arrived today!

I think she's in great shape for 148 years old. Sadly, there is absolutely no trace of rifling left in the barrel. I will have to get her sleeved. Anyone know a place that can do it? I've heard of a fellow called "Whittaker" but Googling turned up nothing.

She's got a couple hairline cracks in the usual Enfield places. I'm not sure how I'm going to address those yet. There is really no "crack" to try and get epoxy down into. I'm considering sending it to a stock restoration place but I don't really want to change the look of the piece.

Fortunately I have a Euroarms on the way also for real shooting. :)

But I'd like to make this one a shooter, too.

Google Whitacre machine shop, comes right up. Robert Hoyt does it as well and is one of the best but has no website. If you do a little searching you can get his phone number.

On the homepage of the largest military black powder parts supplier named http://www.lodgewood.com/ are helpful links which provide these names for barrel work and and one for stock repair too:

Thanks for the links, everyone! I've sent an email off to Whitacre to see what they can do for me. I've also sent off an email to a stock restoration fellow to see what they can do with the cracks.
