My custom Kahr CM9. A brief review with PHOTOS.

I just received my slide back from MOD1 Firearms (www.mod1firearms.com) and wanted to show off their work a bit. I'm very impressed with Pike and MOD1 as they did an outstanding job on the machining and Cerakote work. They added front serrations to the slide and then Cerakoted it and the slide stop lever graphite black. Prior to sending it in I rounded off the corners (dehorned) of the slide stop lever. I've also replaced the stock 6.5lb striker spring with a 5lb Wolff striker spring. This made the trigger pull a little lighter, making for an even more buttery smooth trigger pull. I added rubber Talon grips as well, which have been great in adding a super "sticky" purchase while handling and firing the weapon.

I carry this firearm everyday where it is legal to do so. I carry it appendix, inside the waistband (AIWB) and love it. I wear slimmer, fitted clothing and this firearm rarely prints at all, if ever. As far as holsters go, I've settled on the kydex AIWB holster from PJ Holster (http://pjholster.com/) and it's been perfect. I've also just recently ordered a mag carrier from PJ but have yet to receive it.

As far as the CM9's performance goes, it has been absolutely flawless through about 1,000 rounds of various types of 9mm ammo. I have loved learning to shoot it over the past 6 months and getting used to the long, smooth trigger pull. I trust this firearm with my life and would recommend the Kahr CM9 to anyone looking for a VERY concealable, sub-compact carry gun. There is quite a bit of negative press regarding Kahr, so I figured I'd share my completely positive experience.

There's a lot of negative press regarding Glock, too. That doesn't mean they don't make good pistols.

My CM9 has been flawless.

Maybe someone should setup a place for 'disrespected' firearms that are really diamonds in the rough. Kahr would qualify I think as would Hi-Point and Taurus. Maybe some others? (Glock's fan base is Legendary so I won't include it.)

Very nice RRK9. I'm with you on all the mods except the lighter striker spring on a carry gun. It's gonna be tough at the range trying to shoot because of all the comments you should get. Good stuff.

Nice looking gun. My PM9 has been perfectly reliable, even when it was fed a few mags of mixed JHP, FMJ and semi-wadcutters. An outstanding little gun.

Nice! Very nice!

I have a PM-9 and a CM-9 and really like them! I have a few other Kahr's as well and never had any issues!

It looks great - and thanks for the in-focus/quality photos!! I thought I saw somewhere that Kahr's, or at least this Kahr, does not have metal frame rails. Since you have a lot of rounds through yours, and if the frame rail case is true, have you noticed any loosening up of the slide-to-frame fit since it was new? I would like to get a small 9mm but the frame rail issue is a concern... Thanks!

Oh man, I really, really like that. Very sharp. I have thought about many different micro 9's to possibly take the place of the CM9 as my primary small carry weapon, but nothing has pushed it off of it's pedestal yet. It has been flawless for well over 1000 rounds. The only time there has been a "failure to fire" is when I have been shooting my SIG's almost exclusively, and I do not allow the trigger to reset. I bring it in now everytime I shoot to at least put a mag or two through so that is much less likely to happen.

I recently had the frame of my XDm cerakoted in coyote tan by a local outfit and was extremely pleased with how it turned out. So recently I have been thinking about having the slide of my CM9 done in bronze...haven't pulled the trigger on that yet...as I really like that it is an inexpensive, great shooter that I don't worry that much about really dirtying it up. I have to say, though, that what you've done is very sharp looking. I like that black, for sure. Is that the normal grayish black on the frame? It looks a little darker.

Again, congrats...it looks fantastic!!!

I have a Kahr CM 9 that is one of my off duty carry guns. It has never failed to fire or be disappointing at qualifying times. It shoots in the high 90's right up there with my Glocks:D

When I evaluate DA triggers the benchmark is my CM9 to measure against. Can not think of a better micro 9 for me. Accurate, easy to shoot, easy conceal, reliable, looks good. What's not to like?

Geojelly, all Kahr poly frame pistols have steel rails embedded in the frame.

And my early PM9 has run smooth as a baby's behind, as has my CW45 for years.

They are well made first rate American pistols.
