My coolest find to date: S&W 19-3 snub nosed!!

My cousin had one just like your's issued to him when he entered the Secret Service. It had the round butt factory finger groove grips though, congradulations!

I hope you have the special tools, or you ordered the set from S&W!

You need a square forked tool to engage the nut on the LH side, and a pointed punch to stake the new screw to the new nut. The punch is easy to come by; the fork, not necessarily so. I have, however, heard of people making their own fork by carefully filing down a flathead screwdriver.

I watched a couple videos on you tube. It doesn't look to hard, I'm looking for the spanner bit.

Update found it on Brownells love that place :)

That is not my experience...

This video covers just about all of it.

I LOVE my 2.5" Model 19.

I've carried it on and off for years in a shoulder holster.

I bought it, about as near to mint as it could have been, for $225 around 1996.

I have one I think I bought in 1975 only thing I've changed are the grips, the factory ones are okay for 38 special but pound the palm of my hand with any 357 mag.
