Last month I was the featured speaker at a concealed carry and holster selection seminar sponsored by RED DOT ARMS in Lake Villa, IL. I brought a selection of my IWB, OWB, and Pocket Holsters and explained through demonstration the pros and cons of each type of carry and holster options to fit various lifestyles. The most important point that I attempted to drive home was the importance of situational awareness in all facets of day to day life.
Here's some photos from the event....

Thank you for stressing that in your seminar...:)

What kind of demographics were your audience? Already carry? Thinking of carrying? Never held a gun?

Over all they were a diverse group. Some already had the Utah and Florida carry permits. All are Illinois residents so concealed carry in Illinois will be totally new to them. I really stressed the topic of situational awareness based on my 35 year career as a LEO. My own situational awareness saved by bacon numerous times and lack of it contributed to a slashing across my chest by a knife wielding mental case.

I have around 35 Blue Guns. They are by far, the closest in size tolerance to the actual firearm. Us pro holster makers use them in our wet molding process. Less wear and tear on firearms. A lady friend of mine asked me to help her select her first firearm. I had her come by the shop and get an idea of what she might like by handling several Blue Guns. After explaining the pros and cons of various pistols, she purchased a Glock 17 of her own. I did go with her to one of the big box firearms retailers. She told the salesman that she wanted a Glock 17. He tried to talk her into a Ruger LC9 instead. She stood her ground and sealed the deal on the Glock.
