Ouch! While I was trying to install the magazine limiting plug on my BPS, I dinged up the magazine cap end of the tube pretty bad. Take this as a lesson... use the right tool for the job. Don't use your gorilla strength as I did. Anyhow, the cap still screws on perfect, and the gun still functions flawlessly, as it always has. It is purely a cosmetic defect. However, it bothers the heck out of me everytime I take the barrel off to clean it. My question is, is it easy to replace the tube? It appears to be threaded into the receiver similar to a Mossberg. Is it something I can do myself? Or should I just quit dwelling on it and enjoy it. If I do elect to do it myself, should I use loc-tite on the new tube? I would be nervous that with my gorilla strength that messed it up in the first place, I would over torque the tube and either strip the threads or crease the tube. Any opinions will be truly appreciated. Thanks!
P.S. to clarify, I used channelocks to try to beat the spring retainer into the tube. I thought it was properly started, but I thought wrong. The bottom of the spring retainer dug into and actually cut into the top of the magazine tube. I am glad I stopped before I damaged the threads. Lesson learned.
