My archery double!

Well guys, I just got back from Kansas on my first archery turkey hunt. It was freaking awesome! I got there Friday at 5pm and Richard, my guide, told me to unpack my bags later, we had time to hunt that evening! By 6pm I was in a blind with about 40 turkeys milling around the field in front of me. I could see my buddy Robert in a blind 300 yards across the field, with turkeys slipping out of the woods all around him. After waiting less than a half an hour, I arrowed a big rio. Fifteen minutes later Robert had a turkey down. The next morning was more of the same. As the sky lightened, the woods started exploding with gobbles. One turkey would go off, and then a chain reaction of gobbles rolled down the strip of woods behind me. I decided that since Ialready had a 21lb 8 inch beard bird in the bag I'd wait for a bigger gobbler. I passed on a few strutters and finally when a group of 4 gobblers ambled by, I drew back on the biggest and smoked him. The sun was just peaking over the horizon, and my hunt was over. I had to wait a good 20 minutes for my buddy to tag out, and it was over. I've never seen anything like it. Never heard of anything like it. Here's some pics, and we've got video to prove it. If you want to hunt with Richard, his hunts are $250 with 100% success for the last 3 years, pm him over on whitetailaffliction.com , his name is hntkansan.

nice turkey :D.

i think its a bit more of a challenge using a bow instead of a shotgun for them. i'm still hoping to go turkey hunting one of these seasons.
