my 870 express 20ga. combo

The bolt on my express 870 slides when the pump is in the forward postion is this normal, I never fied it yet I got it brand new from dicks. I had it disasembled
yesterday to try to figure out if it was misalined I didn't see anything out of sink. Any tips or opinions before I take it to dicks or one of my local gunsmiths?
 
Do you mean that with the slide all the way forward the bolt will move away from the chamber,if so there is something Very wrong Don't try to fire it untill you have someone look at it.You are sure that the slide is all the way forward if new may take more than a easy pressure. Try slamming it shut if that don't work take it back :)

Thanks russ for your advice, I pushed the slide forward hard I can still move the bolt assembley forward and back with my thumb. So should I take it to dicks were I purchased it this past fall or to a friendly gunsmith. PS dicks as a former gunsmith at my local store.

I took my 870 express to dick's and found out the reason the bolt moved an inch and didn't lock was because I had the barrel removed. Dan a former gunsmith should me the problem and it took less than 5min. live and learn I guess, so nothing is wrong with it.
