umm its a Savage Mark II with a serial number of 0489997. the kid said its like 8 years old? an only 100 rounds have been ran threw it. would this rifle be that old? its a synthetic stock w/o accutrigger.

It's possible - The Mark II was introduced in 1996, the Accutriger in 2002.
I hope you enjoy your new rifle - they're said to have pretty decent accuracy, but like any .22RF, might need to be tested with a LOT of different types/brands of ammo to find out what YOUR rifle likes.
