Does anyone have an opinion as to whether there is much difference between types/designs in effectiveness? I know they are a pain with increased blast and potential change in accuracy, but, IMO can be beneficial in some hard-recoiling calibers. I found some info which indicated there were major differences in effectiveness based on design. Any first hand experience?

Try a brake from................

Bruce McArthur, c/o The Flint and Frizzen Gun Shop, 8735 Dixie highway, Clarkston, MI. 48348 (248) 398-6386.

When the Second Chance Combant Shoot was being held a goodly number of the shooters of the rifle event used Bruce's brake. He put one on a M2HB Browning and it would only fire as a big bold action since there was not enough recoild to operate it. A friend has one on a .375 H&H and it is like shooting a .308.

BTW, when properly installed there appears to be an increase in accuracy.
